Liberty Park and margaritas
Today we went back to Liberty Park for a longer walk and more photography. For a small park set just off a main road and tucked between houses, it's a beautiful little secret place.
In this photo below, if you look closely and employ your imagination you can see a little badger like creature formed from the ice. It's in the bottom left hand corner with his tail extended out into the water and his nose toward the corner. Let me know if you see it too.
And here we are, shivering in the cold. Though it looks sunny and warm, it's not. Today was somewhere around the -6'C mark, definately no higher and maybe even lower. Even with gloves, the fingers freeze and when the wind blows it chills the face until your bones ache. Having said all of that, I still love every freezing second of it!! :-)
After walking through the park we headed to a couple of thrift stores where we parted with a small amount of money and ended up with several large bags of clothes and other goodies. Thrift stores seem to be a relatively undiscovered gem here, so it's easy to get great things for very reasonable prices -- a bare fraction of the cost of buying them new, especially clothes. And, really, who can tell the difference once you're wearing them!?
From thrift shopping we headed to the gym and did a quick, but solid workout. I couldn't get on the rower so did longer on the treadmill and then moved to a bike/arm thing, like an old exercise bike except with handles as well as pedals. If nothing else, I should go home with great arms. :-)
Back at home we gobbled down leftover chicken chilli and crackers, loaded up a bag with snacks and drinks and drove over to Tonya's place to watch Supernatural. Tonya made margaritas with tequila and a pre-mixed lime cocktail, then laced the rim of the glass with salt. My kind of heaven!
There were two new episodes to see, including one entitled 'Kris Angel is a douche bag'. Once we got past the absurdity of the title, we settled in to playing a drinking game with the words douche bag, dude, Dean and Sam. By the end of the episode we were pretty drunk, well I was anyway! *lol*
Somehow we made our way home around midnight and collapsed into bed.

*giggle* Even though I think he really IS a douche bag, he still spells his name the masculine way: Chris. ;)
Your park pics are SO pretty, I do see the badger and I love the bubbles under the ice. They look even better bigger, though, so I hope everyone views them on your flickr river account thingy.
The park and margaritas... what a perfect day!!
